Making the Old....New Again!

Fall always puts me in a decorating mood. The vibrant colors of the foliage make me want more color in my life. So, I decided to redo (paint) one of my favorite pieces.  It is a Pine cupboard that I have had for many years. I felt it looked a little bland and a punch of color is just what it needed.  So, I chose the color red.  I wanted it to be completely different from what it was before.  The result..........................

BEFORE................
AND AFTER......

THE WAY I HAD IT DECORATED BEFORE JUST DID NOT SEEM TO WORK.  A FEW FALL DECORATIONS AND A PICTURE AND VOILA`.......

 I LOVE IT!

Our  Christian life in many ways is much like the Pine Cupboard.  We sometimes fade with time.   We get caught up in the mundane works of every day life.  We forget we are "children of light".  Our light dims and we seem bland to those around us.  In Ephesians Chapter 4, Paul talks about being "children of light".  He reminds us that we should not live like we did in our former life (before becoming a Christian).  In those days, we lived by our selfish and deceitful desires.  In verse 22 he says, "we are to be made new in the attitude of our minds and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness". As I read this scripture, I have come to realize,"Lord, I have faded with time".  I need a paint Job!  My colors should represent those of "true righteousness and holiness".  Lord, help my attitude be like of Christ and renew my Spirit.  May my life reflect the true colors of who you are in my life. How about you, need a little color in your life?

Flaunt your flowers Friday.....

Just had to get in on the "flaunt your flowers Friday".  My ferns, hanging baskets and sweet potatoe vines are still showing off in a "big" way.

By "big" I mean really "big"!  The sweet potatoe vine is growing out of control!

Out of the planter and up the hillside.......

Almost touching the ground.....
I have added a few Fall touches.......
I dread the first frost when all this beauty will fade away...Until then, I will enjoy!
Blessings to you and yours!
