Sweet Scripture Sunday....

I know Christmas has long passed,
but
I just had to post these pics of time spent with my Grands
making Christmas cookies.

Sydney the teacher!

Kamden the Determined!

Abby enjoying the fruits of her labor!

Yes, any time I Spend with my Grands is a busy, rowdy
and rambunctious but fun time
Which usually leaves me worn out with lots of cleaning to do

BUT

I am reminded of this truth from the word.

Psalm 127 3-5 (Nas)

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord;
the fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
How blessed is the man whose quiver
 is full of them;

Take to time to enjoy all the (blessings) children around you!

Blessings!

Look at this........

Can you believe this?
My daffodils are bursting forth and wanting to bloom!

The unseasonal weather has these tiny little bulbs fooled.
They think it is Spring.

Just praying these little beauties are tough enough to stand Old Man Winter
when he decides to show up.

A good lesson to learn here:
May we all learn to bloom wherever we may be planted.
Regardless of weather, place or time!

Blessings!

Sweet Scripture Sunday!

(Gen 19:27 KJV)
And Abraham gat up early in the morning
to the place where he stood before the LORD:

(Exo 24:4 KJV)
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD,
and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill,
and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day."
---E.M. Bounds

I took this picture of my husband
early this morning
sitting in his favorite chair
Reading his Bible.......
I am so blessed!!

God's Word is like a Breakfast Power Bar,
so don't skip breakfast.

Blessings!

The Old is made New!

Over the past year I have seen how much a home can change.
It is amazing what can happen with a little determination and a whole lot of hard work.
Only a year ago this is what our kitchen area looked like.
It was a make shift sleep area.
We came on our days off and worked.
After much blood, sweat, tears, bruises, aches and time.

Here it is today.......

The transformation is amazing (to me)....

I love the open shelves over the sink area.
Notice my basket collection......

The cooking area...........
It was difficult to get a good angle for the corner shelves in just one shot.....

So I took two........
I love cookbooks.

I love my pantry area.
More baskets....
of course!!!!

I hope you noticed the island in all the pics.
My sweet hubby made the butcher block top for me.
It is one of my favorite things in the kitchen.
We did all the work ourselves.
Just hubby and me.
It was worth it all.
I hope you enjoy!

Blessings!

Patty

Just a thought......
The transformation that has happen here in our "old-new" home
reminds me of the transformation that happens in the
life of one willing to surrender to our Creator God.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
the old has gone,
the new has come!

Now that is truly amazing!

A Window.........

Today.....
As I sit in my dining area
and look through the many windows
 that surround me,
 I see snow falling.
It is an extremely cold day!

There are windows in front of me.

Windows on each side of me.

Windows........
They are a big part of the structure of our homes.

Windows....
Are not only to look through.
but an old window is great for decorating.

In my home....
I have old windows hanging everywhere.
I love them!

This one I purchased at an auction around 10 years ago.
It is sitting in the top shelf of our entertainment center.

My husband bought this one as a birthday present many years ago.
It is hanging over my kitchen sink.

Another one............
 hanging over my bed.......

On the wall at my back door........

This is a grouping in our "small" sitting area.
The old window in the center
came out the home my husband grew up in.
Priceless.......

Regardless of what is going on outside your window today.
I pray the light of the "Son" is shinning through your life.
and remember.......
A window is not just for looking through
but also great to look at.

Blessings!

365 Opportunites....

This past Sunday ( the first day of the new year)
our Pastor made a statement that really hit home for me.
The sermon as a whole was wonderful,
but one statement really stood out.
I guess it was the simplicity of thought.
This is a very easy
and very real thing
that I could do each day.

His statement,
"What are you doing with your 365 opportunities?"
Basically we have 365 days in a year.
Each day we have an opportunity to do something for the Kingdom of God
365 opportunities to be like Jesus!
WOW!

365 opportunities to:

SHARE
LOVE
GIVE
PRAY
SMILE
CARE
READ
HUG
VISIT

The list goes on and on.
I do not know about you
but I want to take full advantage of every opportunity
that comes my way!

Enjoy your opportunities!

Have a blessed and wonderful Day!
