A tisket, a tasket....I have pretty eggs for my basket.

While browsing in the "addictive" world of Pinterest,
I saw some beautiful decoupaged eggs.
These are perfect for Spring/Easter Decorating.
I thought I would try my own spin for this creative idea.

I used:
Regular plastic Easter eggs.
Scrap booking Paper.
 Material torn into strips.
Mod Podge.
Paint Brush

Be prepared to get your hands sticky.

For the decoupaged Eggs......
I cut the paper into several small pieces.
Using the mod podge,
I begin to paste the cut pieces on the eggs.
Be patient......

When you have covered the egg completely,
coat the entire egg with Mod Podge.
Allow it to dry......
Display them in a lovely basket.

I love how these turned out.
Look close.....
Can you see the names on the eggs?

These were done in a black toile paper.

I also wrapped several in material.
I tore the material into long, thin strips.
I hot glued the end and starting wrapping.
You may need to use the hot glue randomly to hold the material into place.
These were much easier than the paper ones.
No sticky hands...
Be sure to hot glue the end.....

I love the look of the ragged edge on the material.
Here they are........

The ones below I bought at Hobby Lobby.
Half price I might add.......
They are done in a paper that looks like a brown paper sack.
No cutting, tearing or gluing.
Just open the bag.
Plop them into a basket with grass.....
Done.

They look a basket of fresh brown eggs
taken right out of the nest.
Very Prim or Farmhouse decor.

Wherever you are today....
Let your creative juices flow........

Blessings!

Sweet Scripture Sunday....

Its time to SIMPLIFY!

The older I get the more I like things simple.
I like  my clothes simple..........
I like my decor simple.........
I like my food simple.......

Yes, as the days pass by I like things simple.

Simplicity is making the journey
of this life with just baggage enough.
~Author Unknown

Just as we eliminate the physical clutter in our lives
we also need to eliminate the spiritual clutter.

Society has made us feel that happiness lies in having things,
and has failed to teach us the happiness of not having things.

The more I study the Word of God the more I understand..............

It is not about WHAT we have
but WHO we have.

I love browsing Blog World..........

To see how Bloggers are taking used and discarded items
and turning them into wonderful decorating treasures.
They make decorating look so simple.

It not about the New,
But about what we do with the Old.
The Old becomes New........

Old Homes purchased and redone.........
Old furniture revamped......
Old Clothes with new Purpose......

Old  doors recreated into something useful........

Yes, I do believe the good Lord intended for us to repurpose.
After all, that is what he does with our lives every day....

No he does not discard us......
He "simply" renews us!

Simple enough?

I think so.......

Yet I call this to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord's great love
we are not consumed,
for his compassions never
fail.
They are new every morning;
great is His faithfulness.

Lamentations 3: 21-23

Simple Blessings to all!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Your Love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
O Lord, your preserve both man and beast.
How priceless is your unfailing love!
Psalm 35:5-7

Today you are not alone,
The Lord loves you!

Valentine's Day Blessings to you!

Sweet Scripture Sunday....

Red, the most beautiful color in the World?

<><>
Ms Betty over at BettyjCrowe-throughmybackdoor.blogspot.com
posted about using the color red in her home.
I think every home needs a little touch of red.
Regardless of what your predominant
decor color may be,
 red just makes things pop!

The color red is everywhere in creation.  It is apparent the color red
is a favorite of our Lord's too.

Red birds, red apples, red cherries, red flowers.......
There is even red Velvet cake.....Yum!

Yes, the color red is a favorite of mine!
You will always see it somewhere in my home.

but it also carries a special place in my heart.
Why?
Because of the blood that Jesus shed for me on the cross.

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ
 to all who believe.
There is no difference,
for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,
and are justified freely by his grace through
the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
God presented him as a sacrafice of atonement,
through faith
in his blood.

Romans 3:22-25

Yes, I do believe Red is a beautiful color!

Blessings!
