Word Wednesday

Welcome to Word Wednesday......

Today's Word is....

INSPIRATION

The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something,
esp. to do something creative:
"flashes of inspiration".

Pinterest is full of wonderful splashes of inspiration...

Well, you get it.

 Another definition for Inspiration:

Divine guidance or influence exerted
directly on the mind and soul of humankind.
We are inspired by great speakers...

I Looovvveee Beth Moore
She has a way of sharing the Word of God...
She inspires me to study and memorize the Word!
Which indeed inspires my very soul
therefore changing my mind..

We are inspired by books....

One of my all time faves...
Made me think about my life...
and ask this question more...
"What would Jesus do?"

We are inspired by individual' testimonies or stories...

 My hubby...
His devotion to the Word...
His family...
To those in need....
Only God could do this..
He inspires me to walk with the Lord..

And Jennifer Hudson

Wow!  What a testimony to weight loss..
and she is keeping it off....
I so want to do this....
Inspiration pleassee!

Amy Harris...

Amy was one of the victims in last years
Tornado outbreak in Ky.
Amy lost her leg and had many other injuries.
Many times they thought she would not make it.
But she did...
Amy's faith, positive attitude and wonderful smile
inspires me to be a better person!
I look forward to her facebook posts each day.

So many great inspirations.....
People, things, projects, blogs, books...

All inspiring us to act...
To change.....
To create....

My all time inspiration....
is that of Jesus!

He was a craftsman...
Can you imagine the beautiful things he
made as a carpenter...

I would like to think that his craftsmen skills
helped him prepare for his mission here on earth.

He was great speaker/teacher.
He healed...
He feed the hungry..
Prayer Warrior....
He was the greatest example of love...
He died (for us)....
and best of all..
He lives (for us)!

That should inspire us to live for Him!

What Inspires you?

Who or what are your inspirations?

When I choose to follow someone in blog land..
It is because they Inspire me in some way..

Thank you Ladies!

Blessings!

Sweet Scripture Sunday

While searching through the many dozens of books
we have stored in our attic for a project (more about that later)....
I found this little beauty!

This is one of my all time favorite reads......
One of those books that just inspire you to be different...
I have read it at least 4 times....

Many of you may be familiar with the movement
that derived from this book...

WWJD

What Would Jesus Do?

In the nineties there were
WWJD bracelets, t-shirts, Bumper stickers.....
It hit the Christian society..big time!
Do you remember it?

Now back to the project.....
Old Book Wreath...book wreath

I have always loved the book wreaths I have seen in blog land
and on Pinterest.

Knowing that I had so many books
and an upcoming move (get rid of books)
Ah ha!
Up to the attic....
searching through books...
to find the perfect books for the wreath...

At first I thought the little black was just perfect...
The right wear....
The right color....
The right thickness...

But after looking through it again...
I just could not..

I got this book years ago in a give away....

An old library book
with check-out dates and signatures.
Handwritten notes on almost every page.
"How do you suffer because of your religion?"
"self is forgotten in presenting Christ."
Just precious!!!

So I brought it down
and it is going with me....
The wreath....
Well..some other books paid the price...

After several hours of tearing, folding, gluing
The end result....

Well.... I love it!

It took 3 books to do the thing...
The wreath is filled with scripture...
Spiritual sayings...
Biblical devotions...
Just like the old book
I will now cherish the wreath too.

Just a reminder to me of the work that Christ can do in an individuals life.
Taking the useless, tattered, hopeless and discarded
and
Making them new....
A masterpiece on display...
Something to be used for his glory.

II Corinthians 5:17 NIV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!

Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them.

Lord, may my life be a masterpiece on display of your Love!
To You Lord, be the Glory!

BLESSINGS!

What a beautiful sunny day we are having here in good ole Ky!
Temps are still cold
but I am just in LOVE
with the sun that
is shinning through the windows today.

Yes, today's Word (keeping in theme with February)
is

 LOVE....
A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection
Here in Blog Land we express our love in many different ways.....

We love our Grands...

We love our homes....
5567 Ecton Rd, Winchester, KY 40391

Our love for decorating...

A love for gardening..

There are four different Greek words
for love....
Agape, Storge, Philio, Eros.

Eros is a Greek term for a type of love.
While this word does not appear in Scripture,
eros is one of the four types of love in the Bible.

Eros is the physical, sensual love between a husband and wife.

AGAPE LOVE.
Agape is selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love,
the highest of the four types of love
This Greek word and variations of it are found throughout the New Testament.
Agape perfectly describes the kind of love Jesus Christ
has for his Father and for his followers:
Jesus lived out agape by sacrificing himself for the sins of the world.

We are to show Agape love to others......
Visiting those in Prison
Giving to the needy

Mission trip ti Haiti-sharing the gospel

There are so many ways to share Agape Love to others..
It is simply just being the hands and feet of Jesus of Jesus to the World.

Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.
The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I too will love them and show myself to them.
John 14:21, NIV

  PHILIA OR PHILEO
means close friendship or brotherly love in Greek..
this past Sunday.

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Romans 12:10 ESV

Next we have Storge..

STORGE
Storge is a term for love in the Bible you may not be familiar with.
Even though this Greek word for family love is not specifically found in Scripture,
examples of it are seen throughout the Bible.

Examples of Storge love and mutual protection are Noah and his wife,
their sons and daughters-in-law in Genesis;
  the love of Jacob for his sons;
and the strong love the sisters Martha and Mary
in the gospels had for their brother Lazarus.

Storge is the natural love and affection of a parent for their child.
It is the love of Family.

Yes, in our daily lives our love is shown for many
different things...

As followers of Christ.....
We may not love everyone like family(storge)
or friends(philio)
or like our husband or wife (eros)...
BUT
We must love everyone with agape love..
Love them like Jesus...
Selflessly
Unconditionally
Sacrificially
and without limit..

"A new command I give you:
Love one another.  As I have loved you,
so you must love one another.
By this all men will know you are my disciples,
if you love one another."
John 13:34-35, NIV

What Kind of Love are you showing?

BLESSINGS!

PATTY

Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God,
Because God is Love....
I John 4:7-8

Sweet Sunday Scripture....

A Friend Loves at all Times....
Proverbs 17:17a

This past week my Bible study group was treated to
a Mary Kay Make-up Party....

Since it was Valentine's Week....
I went all out with pink and red....
Pink heart cookies...
Pink heart shaped cherry flavored marshmallows....
Mini Red Velvet cupcakes...
Pink Valentines...(made by me)

One of my dearest friends is a Mary Kay Consultant....
She treated the ladies to facials...
and makeup.....
It was so wonderful for them....
A real treat.....

All of these ladies have become true friends to me....

In Proverbs 17a...
The scripture tells us that a
"true friend" loves at all times....
Love here pertains to agape love.......
an unconditional, sacrificial love......

FRIEND

There is a vast difference between
knowing someone well and being a true Friend.
The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty
(Loving "at all times")
To many people are fair-weathered friends.
A friend is available to help in times of distress or personal struggles.

I am blessed to have these beautiful women as friends...
True biblical friends.....

I hope I can always be the kind of true friend
the Bible encourages us to be.....

BLESSINGS!

PATTY

WORD WEDNESDAY

Welcome Ladies!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY...

Today's Word is........

"HOME"

1.  A place where one lives; a residence.
2. The physical structure within which one lives,
such as a house or apartment.
3. A dwelling place together with the family
or social unit that occupies it; a household.
4. a. An environment offering security and happiness.
b. A valued place regarded as a refuge or place of origin.
5. The place, such as a country or town,
where one was born or has lived for a long period.

6. The place where something is discovered,
founded, developed, or promoted; a source.

Being part of a ministry family,
we have truly experienced
most of the above "definitions",
at one time or another.
Especially those that pretain to
a pysical structure,  a dwelling or residence..
A place where we knew we were just to live......
For awhile....

Now that I am older,
I tend to think more of "Home"
as a place of comfort, refuge,
 security and enjoyment...
I want a place of my own....

It seems I have never been one to settle for the
way things are...
Regardless of how long we lived in a "home".
Changes had to be made!
I guess that was my way of making it my own....

My Hubby calls me a "DIY MONSTER"

"Why can't you just leave it alone"?
"You know this is not permanent".
I guess I am just a gluten for punishment...
or just crazy...
Anyway...........

Yes, it is true..
Scary but true....lol

I cannot just leave things alone...
No, I have to plant flowers, shrubs and trees.....

I need to move walls, rearrange and paint, paint, paint..
Yes, I am "diy monster"!
I just have to add my personal touch.....
I need to make it my own...
"MY HOME"
"My" dwelling.
"My" Residence.

and in the case of this "old" house..
I'm glad I did....
As you can see.....
From this......

To this....

To this........
It does not matter how determined we are
 to make this our "home".
It just does not feel like "home".....
It seems like something is missing....
Our hearts are not in it!
We have worked hard...
Refusing to move...
Determined to settle down.....

What happens?
We are moving.......

Yes, my hubby (as many of you know)
is being transferred...
as in moved...
as in a new place....
as in a new home....
AGAIN!!

At first, I huffed......
I puffed.....
I cried....
dreading the work....
All I knew to do was pray......
Yet, I was excited....
I felt God was up to something.....
I felt like HE was moving us in the direction of "Home".

I asked you (several posts ago) to pray with me.....
About this move....
About our new home....
Where it would be....

We found it.....
Here it is.....

I am in Love.....
Its an older home on three wonderful acres...
Beautiful mature trees...
lots of space..

So much beauty....
The view from every window is breathtaking...

It needs lots of work.....
Lots of paint....
Maybe a wall removed....
A porch..... or porches.....
Hardwood....
Crown molding...
Bead board...

See what I mean.....
Here comes the "Monster" in me again....

The minute We drove  up the driveway.....
When we walked in......
(Overlooking the pink wallpaper and blue carpet....)
Even with all the work...
It felt like "home".

We put in a bid and we got the house at 24,000.00
below asking price...YEAH!

Now..
Prayers please......
For the selling of our current home.......
That all goes well with new loan....
and the move.....
 and the work.....

I guess the old saying is true...

"Home is where the heart is"....

This place has truly stolen my heart.....

 Not only is it perfect.....
it is only a few minutes from two of my Grands....

For first time in a long time.....
We feel we are truly heading toward.....

"HOME"
An environment offering security and happiness.

Blessings!
Patty

By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures...
