WORD WEDNESDAY

Welcome Ladies!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY...

Today's Word is........

"HOME"

1.  A place where one lives; a residence.
2. The physical structure within which one lives,
such as a house or apartment.
3. A dwelling place together with the family
or social unit that occupies it; a household.
4. a. An environment offering security and happiness.
b. A valued place regarded as a refuge or place of origin.
5. The place, such as a country or town,
where one was born or has lived for a long period.

6. The place where something is discovered,
founded, developed, or promoted; a source.

Being part of a ministry family,
we have truly experienced
most of the above "definitions",
at one time or another.
Especially those that pretain to
a pysical structure,  a dwelling or residence..
A place where we knew we were just to live......
For awhile....

Now that I am older,
I tend to think more of "Home"
as a place of comfort, refuge,
 security and enjoyment...
I want a place of my own....

It seems I have never been one to settle for the
way things are...
Regardless of how long we lived in a "home".
Changes had to be made!
I guess that was my way of making it my own....

My Hubby calls me a "DIY MONSTER"

"Why can't you just leave it alone"?
"You know this is not permanent".
I guess I am just a gluten for punishment...
or just crazy...
Anyway...........

Yes, it is true..
Scary but true....lol

I cannot just leave things alone...
No, I have to plant flowers, shrubs and trees.....

I need to move walls, rearrange and paint, paint, paint..
Yes, I am "diy monster"!
I just have to add my personal touch.....
I need to make it my own...
"MY HOME"
"My" dwelling.
"My" Residence.

and in the case of this "old" house..
I'm glad I did....
As you can see.....
From this......

To this....

To this........
It does not matter how determined we are
 to make this our "home".
It just does not feel like "home".....
It seems like something is missing....
Our hearts are not in it!
We have worked hard...
Refusing to move...
Determined to settle down.....

What happens?
We are moving.......

Yes, my hubby (as many of you know)
is being transferred...
as in moved...
as in a new place....
as in a new home....
AGAIN!!

At first, I huffed......
I puffed.....
I cried....
dreading the work....
All I knew to do was pray......
Yet, I was excited....
I felt God was up to something.....
I felt like HE was moving us in the direction of "Home".

I asked you (several posts ago) to pray with me.....
About this move....
About our new home....
Where it would be....

We found it.....
Here it is.....

I am in Love.....
Its an older home on three wonderful acres...
Beautiful mature trees...
lots of space..

So much beauty....
The view from every window is breathtaking...

It needs lots of work.....
Lots of paint....
Maybe a wall removed....
A porch..... or porches.....
Hardwood....
Crown molding...
Bead board...

See what I mean.....
Here comes the "Monster" in me again....

The minute We drove  up the driveway.....
When we walked in......
(Overlooking the pink wallpaper and blue carpet....)
Even with all the work...
It felt like "home".

We put in a bid and we got the house at 24,000.00
below asking price...YEAH!

Now..
Prayers please......
For the selling of our current home.......
That all goes well with new loan....
and the move.....
 and the work.....

I guess the old saying is true...

"Home is where the heart is"....

This place has truly stolen my heart.....

 Not only is it perfect.....
it is only a few minutes from two of my Grands....

For first time in a long time.....
We feel we are truly heading toward.....

"HOME"
An environment offering security and happiness.

Blessings!
Patty

By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures...

  1. Praying for it all to work out.
That home is beautiful... & once you get your hands on it, & your memories start in that house - it will most definitely be your HOME :)

  2. Your did such amazing things with your current house! It has such great curb appeal. But I must say I love your new home! Especially the wide open spaces. I can't wait to see what you do with it. I hope all goes well with the selling of your current home!

PS - One of my favorite songs has a lyric that says "Home is wherever I'm with you." That is my definition of home - wherever I am with my husband and animals :)

  4. Patty, it won't be long before you make this home your own. It is beautiful and how wonderful to be close to the kiddies especially. Just keep that 'gleam' in your eyes and before you know it you will feel like you are home..Happy Wednesday..Judy

  7. Thanks for following my blog! Hope you enjoy your visits.

Your house transformation is amazing! Wow, what you will be able to do with this new one. And being near grandkids will be super...I have my first granddaughter, 17 mos old...she lived almost 2 hours away when she was born. But I'm so thankful they were able to move back "home" when she was 3 wks old and now are only 1.5 miles from our house! Grandchildren are one of God's greatest blessings.

Can't wait to follow the progress on your new home! Smiles...Bev

  8. Love the pic of the new home! Hey, I'm excited for you! That's the fun thing about the move...decorating something new! I recently said something to my husband that I never thought I'd say...I told him I was willing to move one day if that's what he thought the Lord wanted us to do. You see, we built our current house just 4 years ago when we moved back to the area where I grew up. I swore I'd never move again...BUT I feel like God may be up to something...maybe not right away...but one day in the next few years. We shall see!
