Women, it seems,
are particularly at risk of being labelled.
The Stockton California incident that happen
this past December is one such instance.
"Stockton women outraged when
 waiter brings check calling them 'Fat Girls'"

To label means:
                                        1.An item used to identify
 something or someone,
as a small piece of paper or cloth
attached to an article
to designate its origin,
owner, contents, use, or destination.
2.A descriptive term; an epithet.
3. A distinctive name or trademark
 identifying a product or manufacturer.

2. To identify or designate with a label;
describe or classify:
In today's world there are so many labels
given to women....
We are labeled by our size:
We are labeled by the way we look:
We are labeled by the way we dress: 

We are labeled by were we live:

We are labeled by what we drive:

It is so easy to get a warped self image!

    Maybe you've developed a poor self-image
through unpleasant experiences
and misguided teachings.
These wrong ideas you have about yourself
 can end up reflecting in how you think
 God sees you.
But God's opinion is not based
on our thoughts and assumptions.

Do you see yourself how God sees you?
Child of God

You are a child of the King Most High!
'I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,'
says the Lord Almighty."

"How great is the love
the Father has lavished on us,
 that we should be called children of God!

By the way.....
That makes you a PRINCESS!

No matter how old you are,
it's comforting to know that you are a child of God.
You belong to a loving,
 protective Father,
God, who is everywhere,
Keeps watch over you
and is always ready to listen
when you want to talk with him.
You are forgiving and good,
O Lord, abounding in love
to all who call to you."
Psalm 86:5, NIV

"For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord,
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give hope and a future."

We are all encouraged by a "leader"
who stirs us to move ahead.
Someone who believes we can do the task
he has given us
and who will be with us all the way.
God is that kind of Leader!


"You are the light of the World.
A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
....In the same way,
Let your light shine among men,
that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.
Matt. 5:14-16

Can you hide a city that is
sitting on top of a hill?
Its light at night can be seen for miles.
If we live for Christ,
we will glow like lights,
showing others what Christ is like!

Do you see yourself as God sees you?

If you are His.......
May this be a reminder of who are you in Him!
If you are not,
May this be a reminder of who you can be!

Sweet Sunday Scripture

This is what the sky looked like from my front porch
very early last Thursday morning...
Is the old adage:
“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight.
              Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning” true,
or is it just an old wives’ tale?
This was the view from the side of my porch...
"red sky in morn....
Sailor be warned"....
If true.....
Then something is brewing in the sky....
Actually it is more than an old wives tale..
It is actually quoted by Jesus in scripture....
Matthew 16:2-3
"When evening comes,
 you say,
 it will be fair weather,
for the sky is red,
and in the morning,
Today it will be stormy,
for the sky is red and overcast".....NIV
Sure enough Friday we had an ice storm that
shut our area down.....
Of course in this scripture the Pharisees and Sadducee's
were demanding a sign from heaven.
Even though they believed
only God could do a sign in the sky...
They would not believe Jesus
was the Messiah.....
How about you.....
Do you believe?

The Word for today!

I laugh as I write out the definition and synonyms for this word.

Seriously folks...

We here in blog land can definitely relate..
We are always "moving" things around..
from one spot to the other...

It is in our blood...
We love to change, shift, and redecorate things.....

Being the wife of someone in the ministry..
The idea of "Move" takes on a whole new meaning...

We are constantly on the "Move"....

Going from one place to another...

Our life is not our own.....

We must be available to go when God says Go!
To move when God says Move...

Just when I thought things were settling down..
My husband is being transferred to another area...
As many of you know my husband is
a chaplain with the
Federal Bureau of Prisons...
After many years of ministry in the church..
He was asked to serve with the
North American Mission Board as a chaplain..
So, here we go again.....

The facility in Lexington is a medical facility..

So this will be a new ministry opportunity..
Prisoners who are facing very difficult medical issues.

We need your prayers....

via Internet.....

Please pray:

For the selling of our home...
finding a new home.....
Wisdom with our finances..
New Ministry opportunities for me to serve...
God's favour and guidnace
  for my husband
as he serves in this
new ministry.

I just know at this point,
 I have to trust God to guide us through
 this next journey in our lives.

Isaiah 43:18-19

do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.” (NIV)

Thought for the day:
Don’t be afraid to keep moving on,
For what was before, now has gone,
God wants to accomplish so much more,
But we need to move forward in the Lord.

One of the greatest WOW moments for me was when I understood
the simplicity of this great little song..

Love that this subway sign has Jesus Loves Me on it.  Great message that we all need to remember!
       Jesus Loves me!
That impresses and excites me greatly
and causes me to express myself
  with an exclamation of astonishment.

                  And He loves you too!

Sweet Scripture Sunday.....

And these three remain;
Faith, Hope and Love,
and the greatest of these is LOVE......

I took a trip this past October.....
A long but wonderful bus trip.....
A Longaberger Bus Trip...
With lots of other women.....
and lots of prizes....
Way to much food......
It was a real blessing....
The milk pitcher is something that I made
at one of the stops on our trip..
Hartstone Pottery in Zanesville Ohio..
We were able to paint a piece of pottery
which would be shipped to us later...
I painted a small milk pitcher with a willow tree design...
My sweet Sister-n-Law delivered it to me
on Saturday packed in a small box...
What Excitement!
What Jubilation!
I can't wait to seeeeee...
At first glance I was so proud....
It is beautiful...
It turned out great...
with the exception of one tiny...
Did you see it?
How could this happen?
I misspelled Corinthians......:(
I still LOVE  it!!!!!
It will always remind me
of a wonderful Bus Trip...
shared with a group of wonderful ladies...
Time spent with a wonderful Sister-in-law...
Great food..
Great Fellowship....
and Lots of Love...
The fact that nothing is perfect....
except LOVE.....
God's love that is.......
His love is perfect...
A Gift to all....
Take time to Share the Love of Jesus with someone today
After all,
is an action Word...
So unpack the box....

A few weeks ago I felt the urging
of the Holy Spirit
to take time this year to do what I call,
 "A year of Words". 
 I did not intend to blog about this
but simply wanted to keep a weekly journal. 
 Each week I would take a new word
and do a Biblical Word study.
I felt blogging would keep me
even more accountable.....

Today's Word.....



1.  Go or come after
(a person or thing proceeding ahead);
2.  Move or travel behind;
3.  Go after (someone)
in order to observe or monitor..
synonyms:  pursue, ensue, succeed.
Of course, in the blog world
we are very familiar with the third definition....
as we pursue followers who observe or monitor our blogs daily..
Sounds kinda scary......lol
I have discovered in the blog world
 beautiful house-decorating-fashion type blogs
are very popular...
but the Word filled blogs tend to be less trendy...
fewer followers....:(
I know what you are thinking....
All of you beautiful blog people out there...
before you get your feathers all in a fluff....
let me just say...
I love the home decorator fashion blogs!
I follow along with many..
simply because I want to "observe or monitor"...
all the creative beautiful ideas!!!
Many of the blogs I follow
are beautiful decorator blogs who love the Lord too.
love that!
So, when you find a blog that uplifts the Lord
Take time to follow along...
Take time to read them.....
Enjoy them....
Allow them to feed your heart.... as I do!
It all comes down to this...
As a believer, I am to follow JESUS!
To walk in a way that others see Jesus in me.
To blog in a way that others see Jesus in me...
Women of God....
Let your creative juices flow..
Show your beautiful homes...
Show your beautiful re-purposed ideas...

Do you ever feel like time is just fleeting by?
The older I get the more I feel as if the days are shorter..
and life is going by so much faster......

Does anyone else feel that way?

I am trying each day to become more content with my surroundings......

More content.....
with this old home that we have done soooooo much work on.....



More content.........
 With me.....

Weight gain.....
Gray hair that I continually have to color.... blah!
I am learning to stay away from mirrors that make me see
more than what I need to see.....
that helps...lol

To be content with the fact that I am a Grandmother..........

I seems my three daughters were just little ones last week...
where did all these precious ones come from??????

The Apostle Paul understood contentment........
in Philippians Chapter 4
he writes.......

.....for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
I know what it is to be in need,
and I know what it is to have plenty.
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,
whether well fed or hungry,
whether living in plenty or in want.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Phil 4: 11-13
  to be pleased....
Willing; satisfaction.......
Today..... I am learning to be Content....
