Sweet Sunday Scripture.........

Its that time of Year......
A New Year is just around the corner....

The coming of the new year
is a time that challenges us to reflect....

    For many of us,
    a time of reflection
    will challenge us to change....
To become more aware and determined....

    For others,
it will be a time of sadness.....
    still, others will have joy......

What will this year bring for you?

Only the Lord knows for sure,
but we can be sure of this........
    He will be with us.
and His Word will guide us.....

Regardless of whatever time it may be......

    The promises from the Lord...

can sustain us from day to day

    throughout the upcoming year....

    Lamentations 3:22-24

The unfailing love of the LORD never ends!
By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction.
    Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each day.
    I say to myself,
    "The LORD is my inheritance;
    therefore,
    I will hope in him!"
    (NASV)

I am excited to see what the New Year holds.....

May 2014 bring you blessings abundantly!

    BLESSINGS!

Its a Beautiful thing!

Well, Christmas has come and gone......
I am planning on keeping my Christmas decor
up a little while longer....
I love how it just seems to be the perfect filler to my home....
It just makes things beautiful!!!
After it is gone.....
well things just seem empty.......

A little garland of berries, sprig of greenery, Pine cones.........
they just complete the decor...

They add color, flavor and just make me happy.......

The green and red and the natural of the pine cones....
Just seem so natural to my home....

The perfect touch to all the white dishes.......

I cannot help but to think of
the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer......
He is the perfect filler for our lives as Christians.....
Without him....
 we are just empty.....
With him it is just a beautiful thing to see!

John 14:26
But the helper, the Holy Spirit,
Whom the Father will send in my name,
He will teach you all things and
bring to your remembrance
all that I have said to you...

HE does not come and go as the Christmas season has....
No, He comes in and takes up permanent residence in us!
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior
We become His home......
He is what we need to make our lives complete.....
When we allow the Holy Spirit to empower our lives.....
It will affect all those around us.......
Just like the beautiful decor in our homes........
He is what empowers the Christian to be beautiful........

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;
against such things there is no law.

The fruit of the Spirit
Makes us beautiful to others.....
Without the Holy Spirit it would be impossible to live this way.......

I pray that in my home
 in my life....
in my posts....
I will always reflect the power
and the fruit of the Holy Spirit!
It is a beautiful thing!

Blessings!

Sweet Sunday Scripture.........

Christmas is slowly showing up
a little at a time here at the Sumner's......

A little sparkle on the mantle......

I added some old vintage lace doilies to the garland of greenery and burlap...

I just love the simple look of these burlap stockings.....

Some old ice skates on the banister......

A few red berries to add some color.....

  A Happy little wooden snowman.....

Christmas is a time of celebration.....
A time of joy and hope....
A time to add a little sparkle and color.....
A little simplicity....
A little happy......
A time given for the young and old....
A time to Celebrate!

All for one reason.......

JESUS!!!!

Celebrate the Reason for the Season...

2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Christmas Blessings!

Sweet Sunday Scripture...

THE LORD HAS COME!

This time of the  year can be very busy.....
busy shopping days,
via businessinsider.com
holiday baking,

and decorations......

Our schedule can be very hectic....
Parties and events......

Sending out cards to family and friends....

We hears songs of "holiday cheer"......

But in the weeks before we celebrate the Savior's birth
Why is it we feel such stress and anxiety instead of cheer?

I believe it is a matter of time........
or how we spend our time....
Take some quality time this season to prepare your heart.
Take time to remember.....

The reason for the season.......

"...the Angel said to them ...
I bring you good news of great joy.
It is for all the people.

Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you.

 He is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:10-12

And as you reflect  upon these precious truths...
I know it will change your holiday anxiety
into holiday cheer/joy!

JOY TO THE WORLD THE LORD HAS COME!!!!

May your days be Merry and Blessed!

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS!

Sweet Sunday Scripture.....

Today many will begin to celebrate Advent.......

 "Advent" simply means coming.......
 as in Christ is coming,
and for us, now He has arrived.
This is referring to His birth in history and in humanity.

The season of Advent begins on the fourth Sunday
prior to Christmas Day,
or the Sunday which falls closest to November 30,
and lasts through Christmas Eve, or December 24

Many Christians celebrate Advent

     not only by thanking God
for Christ's first coming to Earth as a baby,

         But......
also for his presence among us today
       through the Holy Spirit,

and in preparation and anticipation
of his final coming
at the end of time.

Romans 15:12-13

And again, Isaiah says,
“The Root of Jesse will spring up,

    one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.”
 May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in him,

so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May this Christmas season bring you many blessings
But most of all....

May Jesus fill your heart.....

Celebrate....

For He has come!!!!

Blessings!
