 I love boxes and baskets.....
Doesn't everyone?
Old ones...
new ones....
large or small...
any color...
any texture...

They are just perfect to store things in......

This old tool box sits on a serving table in my dining room...
It holds two sets of dishes.....
out of the way.....
until I need them......

They can also be the perfect accessory for your home....
I mean every girl loves a little something extra with her outfit......

This old gathering basket looks perfect on this farm chair....
Please ignore the dust....

This old crate.....
A great place for your keys as you enter the door.....

They can serve as both accessory and storage......
I love these old picnic baskets.....
You can fill them up...

they look great sitting under my perky blue table...

How about using baskets as filler for shelves
Not so messy...
and not so much dusting....
but lots of hiding of "stuff"~

And I love the round blue baskets.....
A surprise pop of color.......

Baskets and boxes are great for hiding things away...
The perfect place to get rid of the mess...
The things we do no need everyday....
The things we hang on to...
even though we do not really need them.....
If only you could see inside.....
Not so pretty....

As it is with our lives...
If only others could see what we are hiding inside....
The hurts...
The pain..
Unforgiveness...
anger...
Bitterness...
Bad choices....
Bad decisions....
Not so pretty....

Regardless of how good our cover up job is....
God knows...
He sees all...
There is no hiding....

Take time to talk with God...
Allow him to get into the innermost part of your heart...
To see what others do not...
Regardless of the mess we make....
He loves us...
I am so thankful he sees the beautiful..
The potential...
Not the mess.........

Micah 7:18
There is no other God like you!
You forgive sin
and pardon the rebellion
of those who remain among your people.
You do not remain angry forever,
but delight in showing loyal love.

Eph. 1:7
He is so rich in kindness
that He purchased our freedom through the blood of His Son,
and our sins are forgiven.

BLESSINGS!

  1. Patty,
I love the old toolbox and those blue baskets!
you're right, we need to be as pretty on the inside as the outside! The bad tends to spill out even when we're trying so hard to hide it. I'm so glad I let God heal the yuck in me. Thanks for the beautiful thoughts.
    Have a blessed week!

  2. A beautiful post, Patty. Such encouraging Bible verses. I love your collection of boxes and baskets. I have oodles of dishes (mine and mother's) and I like the idea you store yours where you can reach them easily! I have a feeling my cats would choose a basket to nap in!
We are packing for a move so I am taking a break from my blog.
    God bless your week. Mildred

  7. What beautiful thoughts! I needed this tonight. I am being a bit sentimental. Our journey is filled with joy and pain, hidden and uncovered and God knows it all. I have a broken relationship with my brother and sister in law on my side and David's sisters on his side. Not having them to share and not having my parents was almost unbearable pain amid the joy. Thanks for this post. As always, you stir my heart and encouragement me!

  18. Such a fun post Patty!
Your displays are wonderful and inspirational - I have many of these things but they are in the basement - I don't have the spaces like you do - how fortunate for you.
I enjoyed my visit again today.

  21. Hi Patty, love your boxes and basket and how you have used them. The blue baskets are indeed a lovely pop of color. You've inspired me to drag out some of my baskets I have stored in my basement.

I love that God is watching us and knows us. I love that we cannot hide from Him, we are free to be real with Him. All these things shows He's engaged with us, a truly loving Father.
