Time....is on my mind......

Do you ever wish you could just make time stand still?

As I find myself getting older...
Time seems to pass by so quickly...

There is not enough hours in the day
to accomplish all I want to..

Oh.. I have great ambitions........
or should I say, "great intentions".....
To walk through the day......
doing so many enjoyable and productive things....

and before I know it.....
the day is gone...

I go to bed determined to make the next day count...
make it count spiritually...
Make it count physically
Make it count emotionally...

A Bible study and prayer time....
Read a book....
Do a little painting...
Gardening.....

to enjoy my new/old home....
to sit awhile on my back porch.....
and listen to the birds sing....

To do more than water and prune my roses...
To actually
"stop and smell them"......
mmmmmmmm

I have decided....
Its "time" for me to stop focusing on "time!

To enjoy life.....
To see the beauty around me..
To be thankful for another day!
To seek the Lord.....

After all,
He is the one who gives us...
Time......

Take Him along with you as you walk through your day......

Enjoy your Week!

Blessings!

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33

  1. Well I guess you did this one for me! I needed it and loved it. What a wonderful post and I need to do the same. Just take time and smell the roses. Thanks to you I am going to do just that

  2. Loved your post Patty. Seems our lives are centered on TIME. I purposely did not wear my watch to town today, and I was miserable. Can't begin to tell you how many times I looked at my wrist. After my sickness last winter, I have learned to slow down somewhat and think about what is really important in life. Enjoy the remaining part of your summer. Oh, and I love the flowers in the old boots.

  4. Ahh... I want to do this very thing too!!

Stop. Smell the roses. Savor each and every moment. I did a post or two similar to this - because it is so on my heart and mind, as well.

One thing... I'm noting is that framed sampler piece. Did you do that? I've been thinking how I'd like to get back into cross-stitchery again.. .like I have time!... :) ha!
I couldn't resist, that one, but it's the truth.

It's truly a matter of finding the right pattern; the one that I see in my head.

I'll come sit on the porch with you... listen to the birds and sip something hot, like a cuppa coffee or two. :)

  5. I think the same thing. But if I pray each day, do a good deed or two and stop and thank G'd for all that I've been given it's enough. I just need to remember that. And when I get to visit with my sweet blog buddies, I'm truly lucky!

  6. So often I wished I could go back and change some things and than I remember that I can't and just try to live each day the best I can with no regrets.

  7. Patty-
This is an encouragement today for me to read. I have some of the same things going through my mind. Today, I had a scary thought-- for just a moment. Regarding time in a round about way-- suppose God were to remove His protective hand from my family? What then?
Time should NOT be wasted. Regarding family. More importantly regarding Worship and time spent in the word and With HIM.
thank you for posting this, I think this is a nod from the LORD, confirmation of his message.
...you too have a blessed week.

  8. Patty, I so appreciated and understood your comment today. Finding myself there as well. Going through the motions and busyness of the day, but at the end of the day I don't feel like I've accomplished anything that won't have to be redone tomorrow. Certainly nothing of eternal value.
I need a ministry, and I've been praying about that. By the way, I love the arrangement above your side table. Let us know how you're solving this dilemma. :D

  9. Hi Patty, what a wonderful post and such an encouragement and uplifting lesson. We all have the same time, but it's how we use it that makes the difference. We all say, there is not enough hours in the day to do all we want to do. Perhaps the time seems shortened if we don't include the Lord in our routines.
Love your pics. Thank you for sharing this today and wishing you the blessings with your time!
    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs

  10. Such sweet expression. This is beautiful. As always, your words lift me up. Your wall collage is beautiful too and I love the clock with the jars, two of my favorite combinations.

  11. Time is a subject recently discussed at Mary Katherine's blog...mkatchris.blogspot.com. If, throughout the day, I stop to enjoy God's creation, then I am using my time wisely. I am praising the Creator, giving Him thanks for allowing me to enjoy His creation. I've reached the age when a lot of people retire; when I look at a lot of bloggers, they are younger and, as Daddy likes to say, "going to set the world on fire just as soon as they find their box of matches." I've left the hurry, rush lifestyle behind and glad of it. My productivity might not be the next woman's idea of productivity but I'm not living her life, I'm living mine.
