Word Wednesday

Welcome to Word Wednesday!!!

I am so happy to say that I am feeling much better
with the exception of this not so sunny Spring weather we are having.
It is making me feel a little "hum drum".

"Hum-drum" you say.....

Yes, "Hum-drum".....

Hum-drum-
lacking variety, boring, dull.
Routine, monotony, Archaic.....

This weather if becoming very "hum-drum"!

Snow, rain, clouds and cold temps....

Blah, Blah, Blah!

Come on Spring......

I am ready for Sunshine, flowers,
the smell of fresh cut grass, bare feet, dry ground...
and Warmth!!!

A season that hangs on to long.....
Can definitely give us the feeling of "hum-drum".
The same thing can happen in our Spiritual life....

We can actually end up with the "Spiritual hum-drums".

Do you ever find that your spiritual life is boring?

If all you do is sit and listen, listen, and listen to the Word without ever taking
steps to apply it to your life
you will soon reach a place where you are actually bored.

Thinking, not another sermon.....
Not another Bible study...
Reaching for another book...
Looking for new ways to "perk" up your spiritual life.

There is one primary reason why people get spiritually bored.
Simply this...

Knowledge without application will eventually become boring and unfulfilling.

You will come to a place where you've heard, heard, and heard
so much of the
Word that you are sick of hearing it!
You read, read, read so much that you cannot even
remember what you read...

Sad but true...
The problem does not lie in the Word....
The problem lies within us...
The Word was meant to be acted upon on..
Responded to...

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22

So if you just sit and listen to more and more sermons,
gathering more and more information but never
act upon what you've heard,

You are more likely to end up with the Spiritual "hum-drums".
Have you found yourself seeking someone or something
to spice your Spiritual life?
We get bored because we are not living out
or applying
the Word you have heard and read over
and over again.
Personal application of the Word to an indivduals life is a must!

If we could just simply learn to "apply" the Word daily...
Taking time to make it personal....
We would never be bored!

Don't let the Spiritual "Hum-drums" take over.....

When you hear the Word preached....
As you are reading the Word....
ask yourself these questions....
What verse really caught my attention?
Why did this verse catch my attention?
What is God saying to me personally?
What am I going to do about?

The Word is meant to change us.....

If ....
Your life is not changing because of the Word.....

You just may have the Spiritual "hum-drums".

Blessings!

Sweet Scripture Sunday......

Don't you just love "BOLD" decorating.....

Oh these beautiful "bold" colored cushions....
What they could do for a room...

In decorating we can see how a small pop of a "bold" color
 can completely change a room..

Simply Beautiful!
In the same way,
When we are "Bold" for Christ....
What it does for ones life can be simply amazing....

This picture is a blend of a group of young people
who spent several days at the rescue mission we ran.
There are six women sitting among them..
Six women who they "boldly" shared their faith with..
Six women who will never be the same after meeting
such "bold and brave" young people.
Young people who worked hard painting, cleaning and clearing land..
all the while singing, praying, praising and proclaiming
The good news of Jesus!

Simply Beautiful!

The book of Acts of filled with "bold" moments!

In chapter 4, after Peter and John are released from jail..
(By the way they were jailed for "boldly" speaking about Jesus!)

They went back to their own people.
And shared what they had been told
"Do not share the good
news of Jesus again...."
What did they do?
They prayed for "BOLDNESS"!
Asking God to use them in great ways among the people...
What happened?

"After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke
the word of God boldly"
Acts 4:31

Boldness is not reckless impulse..
Boldness requires courage
to press on through our fears
and to do what we know is right!

"Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house,
they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news
that Jesus is Christ!"
Acts 5:42

We should live as Christ has asked us to:
Sharing our faith-
No matter the cost!

Are you being "BOLD" in your faith?

Blessings of boldness to you today!

Word Wednesday

Welcome to Word Wednesday!

Today's word is.......

WORK
Activity involving mental or physical effort
done in order to achieve a purpose or result..

We work at all sorts of things...
Work can be fun.
It can laborious.
It can be done well..
Or done not so well.....

We can work with our whole heart...
Or work half-heartily...

Work can be something we are proud of...

Gardening is not easy but the results of your Work
can be beautiful...

Re- purposing Old Furniture can be very rewarding work...

Via Pinterest painted furniture..

Who would have thought that an old bed could be a beautiful bench...
Re- purposed for a purpose....

Old doors and pallets...
Become things of beauty!

Did you know.......
The origin of work is found in the book of Genesis.

In the opening passage, God is the primary worker,
busy with the creation of the world (Genesis 1:1-15).

The Bible states that God worked for six days
and rested on the seventh day.
These passages reveal that God was the first to do work on the earth.
Pretty amazing...huh?

So, legitimate work reflects the activity of God.
Because God is inherently good,
  work is also inherently good
Psalm 25:8; Ephesians 4:28).

Wow!
This should change how we look at WORK....

In Genesis 1:31,
when God viewed the fruit of His labor,
He called it “very good.”
God examined and assessed the quality of His work,
and when He determined that He had done a good job,
He took pleasure in the outcome.
YEAH!
That's another good reason to work well...

By this example, it is apparent that work should be productive.
Work should be done in a way
that produces the highest quality outcome.
The reward for work is the honor and satisfaction

that comes from a job well done.

To work at something is a good thing...
To work well at something is a God thing!

Here in blog land there is no shortage of great workers...
Faithful to the Work of the Lord.
Creative Workers.....
Dilligent Workers...

Work Well Ladies!
And....
May your work always be pleasing to the Lord....

Work willingly at whatever you do,
as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Colossians 3:23

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might
Ecclesiastes 9:10

BLESSINGS!
