Sweet Sunday Scripture....

This is becoming one of my favorite pictures..
It hangs in my dining room over the mantle.....
Take a closer look and you will see why I love it so much....

It is of a family sitting around a table praying over their meal....
A wonderful display of.......
An attitude of Thankfulness....

I have not had that lately....
An attitude of thankfulness.....
After today's preaching and Sunday lesson......
I was sorely convicted.....

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in faith as you were taught,
and overflowing with thankfulness.....

Colossians 2:6

With all the moving and remodeling....
I have become a grumbler......:(
Complaining about what I don't have........
Whining about all the work...
A selfish attitude......

Forgetting......
Of who I am in Christ......
and
about the price that was paid
for me to have that position....

My focus was on things.......
It was on my circumstance....
My immediate situation........
Instead of my position.....
My position in Christ!

Nothing like a good sermon to help you "refocus"!

As I sit in my family room and look into my dinning room...
I am reminded that I have much to be thankful for.....
yes.....
I have been blessed with many "things"....

But the greatest blessing of all ........
Jesus Christ!

You might say I want to celebrate.....
Thanks-living!
To have attitude "overflowing with thankfulness"!

Happy Thanksgiving Blessings!
Patty

  2. Good Morning Patty, What a wonderful post about being thankful! I love the Norman Rockwell? or look a like print!! The family praying together and being thankful...isn't that what this country was based on all the way back to the Pilgrams and Plymouth. I've been running around crazy these last few weeks for Over the Moon Show and I feel the need to be spending more intimate time with our Lord! He is so good to us!! Have a wonderful and BLESSED beyond Thanksgiving! Roxie p.s. Love your blog!

  3. Beautiful post and especially sweet this time of the year. We all tend to step off the path once in awhile. Being reminded of what's really important is a special gift.
    Happy Thanks-Living and Thanksgiving!

  4. Hi Patty, I know what you mean. I had a new dishwasher installed. Or rather nearly installed. I began to fuss and then caught myself as I thought this is a problem of PROSPERITY which so many do not have. I am blessed beyond measure. I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving surrounded by those you love, Olive

  5. Oh Patty, you are so right. Some of the things that I was grumbling about just a few weeks ago seem so petty now that my sweet mother-in-love has moved to Heaven. It just shows how very precious and short life truly is.

    Happy Thankgiving and thanks living!

  7. Hi Patty,
What a beautiful painting that hangs in your dining room. A daily reminder of the blessings we have. The devil is alive trying to work his way into our Iives creating trouble. This is when our faith is challenged but we have to stand strong and in all things give thanks. It is good for us to refocus and ask for God to guide our direction. Life just happens and HE knows we are human.
Wishing you a special and Happy Thanksgiving.
    Hugs
