Extreme Makeover..... YES!

As many of you know we have been in the middle of another remodel....

Here is our new project
Isn't she lovely?
well the outside is lovely......
Inside....
ewwhhhh.....
Not so much.....
she is carrying a lot of ugly baggage.....

I am happy to say.....
she is looking much better these days.....
One room is complete...
applause..
cheers....
maybe a little whistle....

Its the entry/foyer.....

Here she is before:
old carpet, ugly wallpaper and a dated light fixture.

I know just how she feels.....
Wearing the same old thing....
day by day....

Every girl needs a little makeover every now and then....
Right?
Just to make her feel special
needed and wanted....
When she gets all dolled up..
naturally she wants to show off....
Reveal her new self....

Here she is now!

Old carpet....gone
Old wall paper gone.....
Hello new!
Now she is all dressed up and feeling fine!
Can't you see her smiling.....
 and strutting her stuff.....

It is like being on a diet and reaching your first goal....
You know you are not finished yet
but you sure want someone to notice the work....
The effort....

                                            crown molding...check
Extra molding over the entry doors...check
dining room door..gone
pretty little corner corbels...check
new paint....check

Every girl wants to know she can look her prettiest at the best price....
I mean every girl loves a deal....Right?

here is mine......

It only cost me a gallon of floor paint and a little manual labor.....
Its like getting a new pair of shoes.......
Makes you feel ohhh so good!
and the stenciling......
its like the pretty little sparkly things on your shoe...

It is amazing what you can do with paint.......
Come on girls..
We know what a little make up......
I mean paint.....
 can do......

We took up the old floors and put down 12 ml laminate flooring..
It looks great....
We  have pets and active Grands....
Much more sensible...
It is like a faux piece of jewelry
(faux-made in imitation; artificial)
No one knows it is not the real thing
because it looks so good........
When they compliment you and say........

"Oh your hardwood floors look great!"

You just smile and say...

"Why thank you"...

This is the next room........

Here is what she looks like........

Stayed tuned....
More reveal pics to come....

Thanks for stopping by!

BLESSINGS!

PATTY

  5. I really like what you've done with your entry, especially the little swirlies in the corners of the doorway. Who'd a thought? My sons are so tall, they'd be hitting their heads all the time if I did that. ~smile~

The next room is the height of fashion... 25 years ago. ~smile~ I can't wait to see what you do with it.

  6. Oh my goodness the transformation is phenomenal. Could you make a trip to AR and help me decorate?--no major remodeling--I just need someone to help me make this place a little more homey.

  7. Hi Patty, WOW what a grand makeover. You are so good. I love every little detail and the stencil around the floor is fabulous. What an incredible touch. Love the corner detail pieces in the doorways. You did a wonderful job and I can't wait to see the next room. Great outdoor pic too.
Have fun redesigning and a great weekend.

  8. Your new home is beautiful and the renovations are stunning. Love the door jewelry and the stenciling, both add so much character. The stair paint is a nice color; what kind of paint and do you think it'll hold up to heavy use? My back stairs are painted a marine gray and am hoping they'll hold up as long as I've got the house. They were just painted last autumn.
