Do you ever just sit and look at a space...
and think...
hummmmm
It needs a little something more?
~
Please pay no attention to the mess outside..
focus on the window..
particularly the banner....
I love the idea of a banner hanging in my dining room.....
Perhaps saying...
"Give Thanks".....
Something making a statement about who I am...
or
What it means to be in this area...
Perhaps.....
A welcome to guest....
Who sit at our table......
What do you think?
Maybe I could stencil something in Bold letters
Or
Keep it simple
and use White.....
What do you think?
Maybe.........
~
Something that causes folks to pay attention to the details...
Of who I am...
What my home represents...
What do you think?
Maybe I should leave it.....
simply as a burlap Banner...
Speaking for itself...
With a simple statement of color and texture....
What do you think?
Yep....
I like the idea of a banner hanging in this area...
~
As a reminder...
To Give Thanks....
To Our Lord...
Who is over all....
As a reminder that He is A Good God...
~
A God who Provides....
~
A God Who gives Peace..
~
A God who Protects...
~
And...
A God who Loves....
Song Of Solomon
2:4
"He has taken me into the banquet Hall....
and his Banner over me is Love!"
A little reminder for you this week...
God loves you!
Allow His banner of love
To cover you!
BLESSINGS!

Hello sweet Patty! Your banner is lovely in all of it's elegant simplicity :) I think the burlap and lace make a beautiful statement, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and wishing you an enjoyable week!

I am doing that right now with our kitchen. I really like the banner and the scroll over the window. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty, I love the idea of the banner in the dining room and on your gorgeous window.
ReplyDeleteGiving thanks at the table is a blessing. Looking forward to seeing what you put on the flags.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Blessings~
Hi Patty, What a pretty room/window/banner. It would be nice as is, or perhaps black letters. You have made me think of family dinners and holidays in the not to distant future now!
ReplyDeleteI love the banner Patty!!! It is the perfect addition to your space and I would like it either way!!! Makes the space feel warm! A wonderful week to you! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! It looks like it needs to be there.... so many possibilities on what it could say.... I like it and it just seems to fit. Thank you for sharing it....Hmmm.... it is giving me ideas. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a very nice reminder and adds texture and color to your space! I like it! And it also reminds me I need one over my French doors. I had one for Christmas and meant to make a new one when I took it down! How long has that been? lol Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteA beautiful reminder!
ReplyDeleteI think you have a wonderful gift of hospitality.
your space is lovely and would be a welcoming embrace for any visitor. :)
I love your little-something-more! I'm crazy about burlap and banners! The lace, always!
ReplyDeleteJehovah Jireh (God is my Provider) fits. Would look nice in white! I've been wanting to make one for awhile too. Just need to find the right spot and words. Blessings, Diane
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of saying something Biblical and welcoming. The gift of hospitality is sorely under-rated. You were talking, recently, about ???...anyway, this post came to mind - http://thistlecovefarm.blogspot.com/2012/05/life-like-water-stepping-on-shadows.html.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. Brings to mind Jehovah Nissi, the Lord our Banner!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely window dressing. I love to fill our home with scripture. I want to be surrounded with the Word! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Patti! What a great blog you have! I found you through Celeste. I adore banners and yours looks so inviting topping your window. It's so nice to give a message to your guests or to remind us of something blissful & uplifting. The Bible passage you quoted about banners is so perfect!! Loving it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week Patti... can hardly wait to see what you add to your banner.
Many blessings, Edie Marie
