This is the flag that was draped over my brother's coffin
when he was killed in the Vietnam War in 1970.
My Mother gave it to me before she passed.
This is something I will always cherish...
Even though I was young,
I will never forget the day
they handed the flag all folded over to my Mother..
As a nation, we should never take for granted the price
paid so that we may experience freedom..
Thanks to all who serve our country!!!
My country tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died!
Land of the Pilgrim's pride!
From every mountain side,
Let freedom ring!
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died!
Land of the Pilgrim's pride!
From every mountain side,
Let freedom ring!
We are truly blessed!!
Red, White and Blue Blessings to you!

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you lost your brother. I can't imagine how hard that must have been. That flag is such a wonderful way to remember him and his sacrifice! Hope you had a good 4th of July :)
