Sweet Sunday Scripture....

 This is becoming one of my favorite pictures..

It hangs in my dining room over the mantle.....

Take a closer look and you will see why I love it so much....

It is of a family sitting around a table praying over their meal....

A wonderful display of.......

An attitude of Thankfulness....

I have not had that lately....

An attitude of thankfulness.....

After today's preaching and Sunday lesson......

I was sorely convicted.....

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,

 continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, 

strengthened in faith as you were taught, 

and overflowing with thankfulness.....

Colossians 2:6

With all the moving and remodeling....

I have become a grumbler......:(

Complaining about what I don't have........

Whining about all the work...

A selfish attitude......

Forgetting......

Of who I am in Christ......

and 

about the price that was paid

for me to have that position....

My focus was on things.......

It was on my circumstance....

My immediate situation........

Instead of my position.....

My position in Christ!

Nothing like a good sermon to help you "refocus"!

As I sit in my family room and look into my dinning room...

I am reminded that I have much to be thankful for.....

yes.....

I have been blessed with many "things"....

But the greatest blessing of all ........

Jesus Christ!

You might say I want to celebrate.....

Thanks-living!

To have attitude "overflowing with thankfulness"!

Sweet Sunday Scripture....

As I was traveling one of the  many country roads here in Kentucky a few weeks ago 
I spied this beauty......

Yes, She stopped me in my tracks....

There I was in the middle of the road snapping pics...
Fortunately, there are very few cars on the roads...
The houses are very spread out...
So, I snapped away....

My heart ached to see her just sitting there.....

all alone...

Being used as a hay barn.....

Oh the detail....

The colors....

I see beauty in all her chippy goodness.....

How I would love to have those old shutters...

The posts....

The Corbels...

The gingerbread trim....

She was a fine lady in her day.....

Yet, she still had charm and a beauty that just awed me... 

It made me think about the days of old.....
The stories that were told on her porch.....
The children who played in her yard...
and now, she just sits there quietly.......
hoping someone will notice...
That someone will recognize her usefulness.....

It made me think of my Grandmother....

and other elderly folks who may be alone..

just sitting waiting for someone to notice!

Who feel they have no purpose because of their age...

Yet, they have much to offer..

Stop, pay attention....

Talk with them....

Remind them they are worthy....

They are useful...

They have purpose....

They have much to share.

Is not wisdom found among the aged? 

Does not long life bring understanding?

 Job 12:12

What to do..........What to do....

As many of you know

I have recently moved from our Arts Craftsman cottage style home

 in the Mountains Kentucky

By the way, 

we sold this home to a wonderful young couple who are holding weekly Bible studies

in the dining room.......

LOVE THAT!!!!

To this wonderful old cape cod style Farmhouse in the rolling hills of Ky....

Now the dilemma......

The name of my blog.....

"My Mountain Blessings" 

Just no longer fits my life....

Oh yes,

 the blessing are still there 

and to be counted daily....

But no longer in the Mountains....,,:(

Should I go with a complete Title change.......

Maybe to 

"My Farmhouse Blessings".....

Or 

Do I just somehow incorporate a separate page.....

Please help...

I need your suggestions......

 To all you savvy blogger gals....

What do I do? 

How do I do it without loosing my past posts?

Help a gal out.....

What would you do?.....

It's Even Sweeter on Monday.....scripture that is.....

I love mixing textures these days.....

Glass, wood and metals....

old and new....

worn and shiny

and ohhhhh the colors......

They just seem to compliment each other.....

I love putting things together that normally would not go with each other......

or where you would normally expect them to be......

dishes in baskets and boxes....

old wooden spoons and crocks...

And so it is with the body of Christ......

God created each of us  

with a special and specific purpose in mind

All of us uniquely different

But at the same time we need each other...

We compliment each other....

When we come together in unity as the body of Christ....

The church......

Our differences become beautiful decor in the eyes of God....

Romans 12:3-5 
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: 

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, 

but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, 

in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, 

and these members do not all have the same function, 

5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, 

and each member belongs to all the others.
