This past Sunday ( the first day of the new year)
our Pastor made a statement that really hit home for me.
The sermon as a whole was wonderful,
but one statement really stood out.
I guess it was the simplicity of thought.
This is a very easy
and very real thing
that I could do each day.
His statement,
"What are you doing with your 365 opportunities?"
Basically we have 365 days in a year.
Each day we have an opportunity to do something for the Kingdom of God
365 opportunities to be like Jesus!
WOW!
365 opportunities to:
SHARE
LOVE
GIVE
PRAY
SMILE
CARE
READ
PRAY
SMILE
CARE
READ
HUG
VISIT
The list goes on and on.
I do not know about you
but I want to take full advantage of every opportunity
that comes my way!
Enjoy your opportunities!
Have a blessed and wonderful Day!
Patty

Patty, what a thought! You know what is scary? How many opportunities did I miss the last 365 days. I pray everyday that somehow I can do something to make someones day better. Certainly don't want to do anything to make it worse. Loved this post, as I love all your post. Have you thought of writing?
ReplyDelete365 Opportunities - what a great way to approach each day. Great post - thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a blessed week,
Sue
Such a wonderful way to look at life! That's right, it's so important to make each day count. Sometimes I forget that.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine dividing that down into hours or minutes....
ReplyDeleteLove that idea and might even make a list of numbers from 1 to 365 in a spiral and then keep track of something good I do every day. Thank you for your uplifting post

Hi Patty! Thanks for visiting my blog and following! I am following yours too.
ReplyDeleteOur pastor at Christmas Eve service challenged us to something similar. He passed out little red papers with string tied on them. The string represents a 12 inch wick. He's challenging everyone to be a light to the world at least once each month. Then if you were, you cut off one inch of the "wick", an inch for each month. He hopes that by next Christmas Eve service we'll bring our papers back empty!
For some, it's easy to serve many times a month, but for others it's not as easy, or maybe they don't even think about it.
God put us in this church just last month!
Have a JOY filled day!
Jessica
