(Gen 19:27 KJV)
And Abraham gat up early in the morning
to the place where he stood before the LORD:
(Exo 24:4 KJV)
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD,
and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill,
and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day."

Hi Patty,
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute photo and great SCripture. My dad sits in a recliner, too, when he reads His Bible. His at his happiest when he's still and reading :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
Great post on what we need to be doing to start each and every day off on the right foot. Glad your hubby does this. Great man you have there!
ReplyDeleteI had never thought about it in that way. Sometimes I do other things first. I need to change that in the morning.
ReplyDeleteAn eye opening post, Patty.
Beautiful post....God bless your family
ReplyDeleteWonderful post and very true words...you are very blessed indeed. Thanks for visiting me and leaving kind comments...I will follow you too :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
I love that picture so much, and the verse that you chose to go with it. It reminded me of my father and how he always sat in that winged chair reading his Dutch Bible. At the time, I just took it for granted and thought nothing of it. But now, I look back and think of it as one the most precious thing and the most valuable thing he passed on to me -- the habit of listening to the voice of God!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture and you are a blessed woman! Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog! God is so good!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Yes, you are blessed. I am doing a Bible study online and it encourages me to do my Bible study first. I Love it!!! We are so blessed.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty! Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog today! It's so nice to meet you! I enjoyed my visit at your blessed mountain home. The kitchen transformation pics were amazing! Great job! And the photo you took of your hubby's devotional time will be treasured forever, I'm sure. :) Thanks for being a new follower!
